| Incyte Genomics Appoints Barry Ariko, Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of Extricity Software, Inc., to Board of Directors
Palo Alto, CA, April 5, 2001 -- Incyte Genomics, Inc. (Nasdaq: INCY), the leading genomic information company, today announced the appointment of Barry Ariko to its Board of Directors. Barry has more than 30 years of senior executive-level experience with industry-leading corporations, including Netscape Communications Corp., Oracle Corp., and Tandem Computers, Inc. Barry is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Extricity Software, Inc. Before joining Extricity, Barry served as Senior Vice President of the Netscape Enterprise Group at America Online, Inc. from March 1999 to January 2000, where Barry was responsible for Netscape's worldwide sales, strategic partnerships, professional services and support services, and as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Netscape from 1998 to 1999. From 1994 to 1998, Barry served as Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Management Committee at Oracle. In this position, Barry headed Oracle's Americas operations. He was responsible for global sales practices, and was credited with helping the company achieve much of the growth in its Americas operation- Oracle's largest business unit. During his tenure, the organization grew into a multi-billion dollar operation. Prior to Oracle, Barry served at Tandem Computers for 13 years in various executive management roles.
