Incyte has an exceptional team of drug discovery and development scientists led by distinguished executives with proven records of success and scientific and clinical achievements.  Paul Friedman, M.D., CEO, joined Incyte in 2001.  The following year, he recruited Brian Metcalf, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief drug discovery scientist, to run Incyte's discovery operations.

Our researchers come from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences and bring with them the benefits of their expertise in genomics and bioinformatics, chemogenomics, high-throughput screening, combinatorial chemistry, computational chemistry, structural biology, as well as all aspects of molecular biology, biochemistry, in vitro and in vivo pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics. Our development team includes over 55 professionals with broad experience in all aspects of clinical development.
